Frequently Asked Questions
I’ve never had a massage before, what should I expect/do? Please inform your therapist that this will be your first massage; I will do my best to explain everything thoroughly for your understanding. Also please communicate with your therapist regarding pressure, any discomfort and/or pain. As always, take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy your massage!
How should I prepare for my massage appointment? Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes early to discuss intake and expectations for sessions. Do not eat any heavy meals before your session, consider having a light meal and/or snack, drink plenty of water (massage can leave you feeling dehydrated at times because your body is detoxing while getting a massage). Please practice good hygiene etiquette before coming to your appointment. Do not come to your appointment under the influence of any drugs and/or alcohol (this may mask your body’s ability to receive the work safely).
Why the need for paperwork if I’m just getting a massage? When you book your appointment an intake form will be sent via text or email. This form is required before your massage session so that the therapist is aware of any conditions and/or concerns and it also allows the therapist to have an idea of how the massage needs to be customized based on the client’s needs.
Do you require a deposit? What forms of payment do you accept? We require a $50.00 deposit made with Debit/Credit card or PayPal for all appointments. Your appointment will not be secured unless you pay a deposit. The remaining balance can be paid with the following forms of payment Cash, Debit/Credit card, PayPal, Cash App, and/or Venmo. Anyone using HSA/FSA as payment please contact me directly before booking your appointment.
How can I reschedule my appointment? All appointment changes must be made within a 48-hour period through your email confirmation. If you reschedule within 48 hours of your appointment, a $25 rescheduling fee will apply to secure your new time slot. If you’re unable to reschedule within 48 hours, your session will be considered a cancellation, and the cancellation policy below will apply. This policy ensures that appointment times remain available for others seeking care and helps me maintain balance and consistency in my schedule.
What if I need to cancel my appointment? Appointment cancellations must be made within a 48-hour period through your email confirmation. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before your appointment will result in a forfeiture of your session or a 100% charge of the scheduled service. No-shows will also be charged the full-service amount.
Grace Clause: I completely understand that life happens — unexpected events, illness, or emergencies can arise. Each client is granted one-time grace forgiveness per calendar year for a last-minute cancellation or reschedule, without a fee. Please communicate as soon as possible if something unexpected comes up. I value transparency and kindness both ways — your respect and communication help keep this practice running smoothly and allow me to continue showing up fully for each client.
Will I be draped (covered) properly during my massage? Absolutely! It is required that all clients are covered appropriately during sessions. Genital areas and female breast will be covered at all times, please tell your therapist if you’re uncomfortable with draping protocols and if you’re hot or cold due to table warmer, extra sheets and blankets.
What are some benefits I can achieve from getting a massage? Increase range of motion, decrease stress, pain, and/or tension, some individuals may experience an increase in appetite, and just an overall improvement of physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
What are some self-care tips for after my massage? Drink plenty of water (Hydrate, Hydrate, & Hydrate)!! This helps flush out toxins as massage can contribute to flushing your body of toxins. Stretch daily even if its 5-15 mins a day, got to keep movement to help reduce muscle stiffness and tension. Take a warm salt bath or warm shower to help ease soreness and relieve tension.
